I found it heads above the rest, which all were good tales. Personally, I have a preference for stories with a complete, well defined plot. i recognize that this is no longer often in fasion.Brian Keith Daynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173887948269031901.post-88424848992608443862012-04-04T22:18:48.544+00:002012-04-04T22:18:48.544+00:00Thanks, James, that's much appreciated. I normally don't review magazines because there's always at least a few stories I don't care for. The supernatural element is her Cassandra-esque curse (to know the future but to be unable to change it). On its own, that would be of little interest to me, but in the case of Duffy's narrator--a woman whose economic and political status strips her of any power--it's a fine metaphor.

I thot it worth noting that two of the other stories in ST21 ("On the Edge of the Map" and "Virpus") hinge on functions of the Internet and the way it can isolate people (thus making them into potential victims).Adam Golaskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06008713238582881525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173887948269031901.post-54718661474825311702012-04-02T19:36:35.195+00:002012-04-02T19:36:35.195+00:00Thanks, James, that's nice of you. Thanks, James, that's nice of you.valdemarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03829872956512652469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173887948269031901.post-56042134306367799802012-04-02T18:11:58.337+00:002012-04-02T18:11:58.337+00:00This comment has been removed by the author.James Everingtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04717149514440381738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173887948269031901.post-16189959949157055432012-04-02T18:11:57.746+00:002012-04-02T18:11:57.746+00:00I thought it was a top-notch issue.
